American Red Cross

Since 1997, VSP Vision Care has partnered with the American Red Cross to distribute VSP gift certificates that provide access to a local VSP network doctor for eye care and to replace glasses lost or damaged during a disaster. VSP is proud to be an American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program member.

Optometry Giving Sight

Optometry Giving Sight

More than a billion people around the world don’t have access to the eye care or eyewear they need, often simply because there aren’t enough trained eye care personnel. To help fund sustainable solutions, VSP partnered with other industry leaders on the World Sight Day Challenge Coalition to benefit Optometry Giving Sight.

Tyreke Evans Community Outreach

Tyreke Evans: Chester Community Outreach

Since 2010, VSP Mobile Eyes has been visiting Tyreke's home town of Chester, PA, to provide access to eye care for residents and, in 2012, adopted the city to increase access to eye care, connect with local students, and emphasize the importance of good vision. From 2014 to 2016, Tyreke and a VSP Global team also hosted nearly 400 kids in grades 4-12 for a free basketball camp. The students received backpacks with school supplies and learned about the importance of a good education and following your passion.

DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins Elite Skills Basketball Camp

Partnering with NBA player DeMarcus Cousins, in 2016 VSP provided access to free eye care and eyewear for 444 people in need at Cousins' annual Elite Skills Basketball Camps in Sacramento, CA; Mobile, AL, Cousins' hometown; and Lexington, KY, where Cousins went to college. We were in Mobile to provide disaster relief following Hurricane Katrina and we'll continue to explore how to close the community's gap in access to eye care.
