Optometry Giving Sight

More than a billion people around the world don’t have access to the eye care or eyewear they need, often simply because there aren’t enough trained eye care personnel. To help fund sustainable solutions, VSP partnered with other industry leaders on the World Sight Day Challenge Coalition to benefit Optometry Giving Sight.

Sacramento Kings Eyes of Hope Game

Each year, VSP hosts an Eyes of Hope eyewear donation drive at a Sacramento Kings game. In the last three years, the donations have netted 2,015 glasses for distribution worldwide to those in need. VSP matched the donations with 2,015 gift certificates that provide free eye exams and, if needed, brand-new glasses for Sacramento-area students. Donate your gently used glasses at the February 8, 2015, game!

Tyreke Evans: Chester Community Outreach

In 2012, VSP adopted Tyreke's home town of Chester, PA, to provide eye care for residents, connect with local students, and emphasize the importance of good vision. This initiative also provides opportunities for students to learn more about optometry by shadowing VSP doctors, and we’re sponsoring a student to attend a special program at the Ohio State University College of Optometry.
